This course introduces you to the legal, structural, financial and managerial processes involved in the construction process. It will provide you with the practical skills and knowledge you need to work as a builder on low rise to medium rise building projects. You will gain a range of skills enabling you to supervise the planning and quality of construction work and manage the risks associated with projects.
This course, together with your hands-on industry experience, will assist you to meet the requirements of the Victorian Building Authority (VBA) to become a registered building practitioner in Victoria.
The training is provided to our students by teachers that are qualified tradesman themselves and still maintain industry currency by working with other contractors or running their own subcontracting businesses, many holding Builders Licences themselves. We only allow you to be taught by qualified professionals within their fields.

The qualification requires the successful completion of 18 units of competency which includes 13 core and 5 electives. On successful completion of this course students will receive the qualification CPC50220 Diploma of Building and Construction (Building) which is a nationally recognised qualification within Australia.
Students who do not fully complete the qualification but who are successful in completing a number of the units of competency will receive a statement of attainment for those units.
Employment Option
A person having successfully completed CPC50220 Diploma of Building and Construction (Building) may seek employment in the following roles:
• Commercial Builder Licence
• Construction Manager Local, National and International
• Commercial Building/construction project supervisor
• Specialist construction roles in quality assurance and safety
Education Pathway
After achieving the CPC50220 Diploma of Building and Construction (Building), candidates may be eligible to apply for a Commercial Building Licence through their State Building Authorities.
