This course was created because of the growing number of International students and workers entering Australia to work in an Industry which has an extreme skills shortages, high incomes and within Australia a highly respected work force.
According to the Australian Governments Skills Priority List 2022 all sectors of the Construction Industry have massive Skills Shortages which opens up many opportunities for International Workers to find employment.
According to PayScale website the average Construction Industry wage is $81,000 AUD per year, its obvious that the Construction Industry is a good option for people that are good at working with their hands.

The course content has been specifically designed to address the language needs of students who are new to the industry. Students will have the opportunity to practice their language skills through a range of activities, including role-plays, discussions, and written assignments.
In addition, students will receive regular feedback and guidance from experienced teachers/trainers, who will help them to develop their language skills and confidence in the construction industry.
All students must be aged 18 years or over at the time of applying for admission to Platinum Institute Australia.
English Language Level
IELTS band score of overall 4.5 (Academic or General) or equivalent in line with the Department of Education and Department of Home Affairs regulations.
Language, Literacy and Numerously Level
All students must undertake a language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) regardless of English Language scores, PIA wants to ensure that students get the most out of their training. Where students are unsuccessful on their LLN, PIA will not be able to progress with the enrolment into this course.
Education Level
Students will require one of the following:
• International English Language Testing System (IELTS) band score of overall 4.0 (Academic or General), or
• Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) 31+, or
• The Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE) 30+, or
• equivalent in line with the Department of Education and Department of Home Affairs regulations.
Digital Capability
Basic digital literacy (ability to communicate and access information through digital technologies like internet platforms, social media, search engines, emails and basic use of MS office products).
Digital Hardware
Students will be required to provide their own device to undertake this course, Platinum Institute Australia recommends a Laptop Computer with Internet Access and up-to-date software, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Reader.
Students will also be required to have a mobile device capable of capturing Photo and video.
The length of your English course will depend on your English proficiency at the time of entry, your progress during the course and the entry requirements for the course that you wish to study afterwards.

Once you have achieve an IELTS Level of 5.0, you will be able to undertake your English studies in or English for Construction – Advanced Level or continue your studies in General English.
