Description

You will develop the skills and knowledge you need to have a successful career as a carpenter in the domestic housing industry or commercial construction area. You will learn how to use basic carpentry tools, power tools and equipment, read and interpret plans, handle carpentry materials and construct pitched roof, ceiling frames and flooring systems.
While carpenters have their specific skills and tasks to perform in the building process, carpenters must have knowledge of all other trades as a carpenter’s work often accommodates the other trades who follow them.

The training is provided to our students by trainers and assessors that have been firstly apprentices themselves then moved on to become qualified tradesman themselves and still maintain industry currency by working with other contractors or running their own subcontracting businesses.

On successful completion of this course students will receive the qualification 22614VIC Certificate II in Building and Construction (Carpentry) Pre-apprenticeship which is a nationally recognised qualification within Australia.

Students who do not fully complete the qualification but who are successful in completing a number of the units of competency will receive a statement of attainment for those units.

Employment Option

A person having successfully completed 22614VIC Certificate II in Building and Construction (Carpentry) Pre-apprenticeship may seek employment in the following field as an :
Apprentice or Labourer to a Carpenter

Education Pathway

After achieving the 22614VIC Certificate II in Building and Construction (Carpentry) Pre-apprenticeship, candidates may be eligible to undertake the
